It has been sometime...



...
New studio...
... back on track. Soon I hope.

I will keep you posted. I promise it won´t be so long this time. As Douglas Adams said " I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be." And perhaps a change of direction is on the cards. Lots of ideas for new projects which at the moment have little to do with bags, but I´ll just have to wait to see what happens. If you happen to be near and want to stop and say hi, I am in Lisboa, Chiado. It would be nice to see you.

Another year, another quilt.


Moving on with some fabrics I bought last year, I made another quilt combining vintage curtains. I am very happy with the result and hope to soon have the time to get back on track with making more bags. For now another month will go by of decisions and indecision.

Patching a little path together, just like bits of fabric, for the months and seasons to come. Taking it easy, wasting time. Montaigne´s take on his friendship with La Boétie would suggest "... we pick our friends not only because they are kind and enjoyable company, but also, perhaps more importantly, because they understand us for who we think we are."* And so I hope.

Xmas in Lisbon



This year Lisbon has managed to put on a great Xmas light show, simple and classy. Not sure how we can afford this spectacle considering the tough times, but there is no denying that it does warm the heart. And my heart is warmed but for more than just the lights, a casual stroll past The Wrong Shop yesterday, and to my surprise there in the window an Esquilo bag. Made me very happy indeed. You can find The Wrong Shop in Lisbon, on Calçada do Sacramento 25, near Largo do Carmo, and there many Esquilo handbags for sale as well as other nice gifts for you or your friends.

Berlin Sun




I used vintage curtains to make this small quilt. It is now complete. It reminds me of the sun. And so it will make its way north tomorrow to hopefully bring some warmth and happiness to a friend who now sees the sun set at 15.30h. I have started to get a little sad just to see the sun disappear today at about 17.30h. Sadder still is the fact that the shortest day for my Nordic friend will be the 22nd of December. On this day the sun will rise at 8.45 and set at 14.48, the length of this day a total of 6hours, 3 minutes and 44 seconds.

New Small and the 1st of Berlin and Stockholm






These are 4 new purses for your change...

And announcing the first purse made with vintage fabric bought in Stockholm. This is really a little Luso-Sverige number seeing as the back is made from a Portuguese fabric.

And the first of the Berlin collection, vintage fabrics from the Mauerpark markets and Emmaus and ribbon from the Turkish market. I like it a lot.
